I’m so glad you made it.

Thank you for trusting in me to complete your design project with an original work of art.

Important questions to consider:

What is the price for commissioned work?

A rate of 750.00 U.S. dollars per square foot is charged for a commissioned work. The minimum cost for a commissioned work is 4500.00 (six square feet or smaller). If the subject contains three or more subjects (architecture, gardens, boat, landscape, seascape, person, animals are all subjects), the cost per square foot is 850.00 (5100.00 minimum).

How do I start the commission process?

Before contacting Meg Black about your commission ideas, please take a moment to complete the enclosed questionnaire.

After your questionnaire is received, Meg will schedule a complimentary one-hour consultation, typically where the commission is intended to be installed, to discuss the scope of the project. After the meeting, Meg will supply 3-5 Photoshop enhanced examples of the proposed project along with a written contract. The cost for the examples is 200.00. This fee is deducted from the final cost of the commission if the signed contract is returned within 30 days along with a nonrefundable deposit of 25% of the cost of the commission. If additional photographs or sketches are required beyond Meg’s extensive collection, Meg charges 700.00 for a full 8-hour day and 400.00 for a half 4-hour day photography session made payable in advance. An additional 50% is required during an in-progress meeting at which time any adjustments to the original proposal are determined. The final balance of 25% is due upon delivery of the artwork. Let’s get started.

On that mid-summer day, the sky went from gold to red to periwinkle to violet. The mist rose up from the fields into a smoky gray. And the early morning sunlight was kissing the treetops to reveal a lime green next to a deep maroon. It was like the creation of the first day. They love the results of this painting as much as I do and were happy to let me have it professionally photographed in its forever home.

Creating a commissioned painting for a designated space brings me into a special relationship with the collector where we work closely to ensure the results are even better than what they expected.

This is one reason I enjoy working on a commission basis. It brings me closer to the collector and creates a relationship that last long after the project is completed
