Sunrise, Cross Street, Topsfield, MA. (2021). 30 x 22 inches. Private collection.
So, I started riding my bike up the hill to Cross Street every morning at sunrise to discover for myself what it is that made this place so special. I knew when I reached the top of the hill this one morning, that I had the found what I was looking for.
Applying overeaten abaca to my painting of Cross Street, August, 2021.
Creating a commissioned painting for a designated space brings me into a special relationship with the collector where we work closely to ensure the results are even better than what they expected.
This is one reason I enjoy working on a commission basis. It brings me closer to the collector and creates a relationship that last long after the project is completed

As the beauty in this landscape attests, I love living in New England and being surrounded by an abundance of gorgeous natural scenery. The ancient hills, salty air (I live only a few miles from the Atlantic Ocean), and ivy colored greenery, has captivated artists and poets alike.
As an artist, I rely on nature as a source of inspiration for all of my pieces, whether it be land, sea. garden, rocky terrain, or sky.
I hope you experience the peace and calm of this morning sunrise as I felt it on my bike ride up this ancient hill.
